I think Floyd should prove he is the champion at welterweight, by fighting some of the other talented fighters in this weight division.

Cotto vs. Mayweather would be a very a great fight - every boxing fan that I know wants to see it!

A true champion fights the best opponents, not always hand-picked - smaller (Hatton), shot (Gatti), limited (N'Dou) or past-prime (DLH).

Haye is fighting Maccarinelli. Calzaghe fought Kessler. Wladimir is fighting Ibragimov. Juan Diaz is fighting everybody at lightweight who's willing.

    Why won't Floyd fight Cotto?
Hey Steelehammer86/canada joe, how is hatton smaller than mayweather when he weighs around 180 pounds outside of the ring?

Cos before the fight you were picking hatton to win.

If Hatton cant do it, Cotto will. If Cotto cant do it, Williams will. If Williams cant do it, Berto will. The list will go on until they see Mayweather lose.

I for one hope Floyd fights Cotto and loses to him, but I dont see it happening, the fanboy in me wants Cotto to win.

I suppose you think if Butterbean melts down to 260, he'd be bigger than Shannon Briggs? What difference does it make how fat Hatton gets inbetween fights? He's a couple inches shorter, his arms are 6 in shorter, and he's not a big, strong, one punch KO artist.

That is a terrible, terrible comparison. Butterbean to Hatton and Briggs to Mayweather?

Not to mention these guys are Super Heavyweights, not Welterweights.

Hold on a minute, just think about it one more time.

If someone weighs 150 outside of the ring.

And the other weighs 180 outside of the ring.

Who is the naturally bigger guy?

What weight did hatton start at?............140

                  Mayweather started at 130.

I created this identical thread last year. It lasted all of a day before some moron screwed with the program.

I hope it works this time.

                      Mayweather started at 130.

You think about it bud. Because someone blows up between fights (fat) and then melts down (shrinks the fat cells,) he's anywhere near as lean as someone that stays in shape year round. DLH started at 130, does that make him smaller than Hatton as well?
