They need to limit fighters salaries!

Keep them hungry and active! who the **** wants to fight when you getting **** loads for a fight? a lot of the smaller guys stay active and fight who they can because they don't get payed as much and are hungry not only for a title but they need to eat too! I'm not saying we starve our fighters either, it's a dangerous sport and they earn every penny they get but at least keep it at a decent rate. I think this is one of the biggest reasons why you see so many business first and fighting second athletes in our sport.

Face it, what De La Hoya and Mayweather do is not fair to the fans or the sport! I think boxing and the fans deserve better then that and anyone who defends their way of conducting business is not only being lied to but lying to their selves about the situation.

If we had a salary cap there would be none of that if it makes money it makes sense bull**** which is just that.. bull****! It may make sense to the fighter and his wallet but it does not make sense to the fans, the public and the sport! I don't see why some fans are more interested in how much money a fighter makes then who he is fought or if he is out there gunning for the best.. I don't get that at all! How far up your ass do you have to have your head to believe that nonsense.. If someone in the rare event offered a young big fresh name to fight a old club fighter tons of money, would the fight make sense??

As long as we have 5+ boxing organizations and more promoters then jelly roles on Arethra Franklin's ankles this dilemma will never be solved though and we will continue to get cheated out of the best fights and what we deserve!

I think most boxers don't make nearly enough money, but the excess earned by the FMJ, DLH, Tyson, Holyfield, etc type fighters motivates them to train harder and strive to reach that level.

that's what im saying though, we need to take that aspect out of the situation so they can't be saying that.
even the UFC has a salary cap because they know if they pay their fighters wayy too much they won't want to fight!

money taken out of the equation though, what makes more sense, Mayweather v. Cotto or Mayweather v. De La Hoya?

It wouldn't make any sense fighting De La Hoya right now if it wasn't for the money!

The UFC has a salary cap because the UFC is the one that pays the talent. The WBO, WBA, WBC, IBF or any sactioning body does not pay the fighter, the promoter does and unlike UFC there are more then one promotor

Well I agree, in this particular instance it has robbed fans of a fight most would like to see. But, a certain amount of money is going to be made on each fight, don't you think the fighters deserve as much of it as they can make?

true, if there was someway to unify all boxers under one logo and remove the promoters from the mix it would be awesome i think though.
