Money. Lets be real folks, if your ass is a rising rookie who's never had nothing in your life, your telling me your gonna turn down a payday?
Your promotor gets about a third of your purse, your manager gets 20 percent, and the corner gets whatever they get.
If your not a big name, a boxer is gonna be getting a purse of about 50 grand, which means you'll end up with 15-20 grand if your lucky.
If you do become a name though and money isn't an issue then thats when you fight those fights that best challenges you.Comment

They should base it in part on overall competition they have faced. So fighters like Paul Williams who have an average opponent of 14 wins 9 losses cant fight Mayweather over Cotto who has avg opponent of I think 24 wins 5 losses or something.Comment
