Fighting immediately after a knockout loss?

Is there any truth to what I hear people say about fighting immediately after getting KO'd that the fighters chin is more susceptible? Or is it more about lack of confidence and self doubt?

It is definitely a lack of confidence most of the time. If you have been knocked out once, then you start to believe that every punch could knock you out.

It would be similar to a race car driver thinking he was going to spin off and crash on every corner.

It is not condusive to focused performances.

It's more the lack of confidence or self doubt. I could only imagine the blow to one's confidence after lying on the canvas. A loss is one thing but an KO suggest total domination by your opponent of you. They literally took all power and controlled you, ultimately flooring you. That's holistically draining, I'm sure.

BUT, I think the best thing for a fighter who just got KO'd is to have some determination. They shouldn't stop because of one loss, which has happened before.

I also think it's a confidence and self doubt issue.

i think it can take sometihng out of physically depending on the circumstances & the individual ,obviously confidence is a huge factor aswell

Don Curry , Meldrick taylor, Michale Nunn were never the same IMO Although Taylor did'nt get knocked out by J C Chavez he was beaten inside internally

well Taylor got stopped but he was'nt flattened like Nunn & Curry

I also think it's a confidence to because you change your hold game plan trying to protect your chin more than you use to

Ask Roy Jones, who was KO'ed in May of 2004, then found himself back on the floor that September.

Something tells me that Ricky Hatton may find himself back on the floor if he steps back up too fast. Fighters need time for their heads to heal. There is something called second impact syndrome, here is the definition.

Second-impact syndrome (SIS) occurs when an athlete who sustains a head injury - often a concussion or worse injury, such as a cerebral contusion (bruised brain) - sustains a second head injury before symptoms associated with the first have cleared.

Fighters are very susceptible to this after KOs.

it's mental, but if you get cracked really hard i think the chin will be more susecptible until it recovers which a deep bone bruise can take 6 mos to heal!
