He is a great talent, smart business man, but he's a phony. and the great sport of boxnig is being disgraced by this fraud and his antics which have repulsed the likes of tried and true warriors Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Oscar De La Hoya, Antonio Margarito, and Miguel Cotto.

Yes, if only Floyd carried himself with the dignity that Mike Tyson always did. All he has to do to live up to that would be bite an opponents leg during a press conference.

did you just put margarito in as a true warrior? don't make me laugh boy.

now, if floyd was a nice guy, he may have not been as popular as he is today, popular meaning popular by demand. let's be honest, he was just in the biggest grossing ppv fight in the history of the sport, and this is way past the tyson era and the de la hoya era for that matter. floyd's persona is going to make him a legend in the sport, and he is slowly but surely becoming just that. hell, this boxing site and forum alone makes his name grow more and more and more, no matter how bad he is talked about, he is talked about by everybody. talent wise, bar the greatest fighter of his generation, period. skillwise, the most methidcally fluent fighter of the past 4 decades, bar none. his persona only enhances his talent and drive because no matter how much he goes against the grain, and no matter how harshly he's bashed, he overcomes and has overcame every adverse sitaution he's been pulled into or has pulled himself into, this is why he will be a legend very soon.

he may have been more respected if not for his persona, but then he wouldn't be him to himself, would he? talk about him not being real, he's as real as real comes, he stays true to himself, and dedicates himself to his craft like nothing seen since imo surgar ray robinson. but, this sport is about humbleness to many people, and persona unfortunately can overshadow talent and floyd mayweather is a victim of this to the highest degree, in fact he is THE VICTIM of this such thing, but you guys wait and see, the best has yet to come from mr mayweather jr.

Floyd will go down as a great fighter but no greater than RJJ or Pernell Whitaker his best wins are Dela Hoya & Hatton

what are you talking about? floyd has been p4p king since 2005, and rjj was knocked out twice and pernell has losses on his record. floyd's best wins were against hatton, oscar, castillo, hernandez, corralles, and chavez, and judah. pernell whitaker was an amazing fighter as was jones, but floyd will surpass them both, guarantee it.

I have to disagree. The belts he's won are getting him the exposure. If he played the nice guy he'd be on De La Hoya cash.

would Floyd get overlooked talent wise if he is more like Oscar & Shane ,personallity wise ,would he have made as much Money if he was'nt as ebrasive as he is in interviews & press conferences & did he make a conscious decision to be like this because he thought his defensive style might not have appealed to the general Public /Boxing fan

Mosley has always been a great Fighter & a Great Guy yet the Super Star spotlight evaded him for a long time

i like watching Floyd but he is'nt at the top of my list of fighters i enjoy watching the most & to me it would'nt make a blind bit of difference wether he was a nice guy or not ,if enjoy watching a fighter it aint cause he cant fight a lick but he is a nice guy its because he is a talented fighter dont get me wrong i do like watching Floyd hes just not at the top of my list for fighters i enjoy watching the most

just curious if Floyd could have ever been popular with general Boxing fans ,some people seem to hate the guy & use his ebrasive persona as a reason but i think some people just dont like him period regardless
It's not a question of liking.

You Gayweather fans are so idiotic even the worms of the earth will cry out for such an outrage.

Men with brains feel insulted if Gayweather walks around calling himself great when all he has to show are a padded record and a reputation for being a coward.

I could care less if he's a punk, or a complete ass so long as he has courage and A SENSE OF DIGNITY TO FIGHT THE BEST.

I am truly amazed you Gayweather fans haven't noticed.
