I have to say Hopkins resume is not much better than Calzaghes. Tito and DLH were much smaller than him, Taylor is good but not better than Kessler or Lacy, Johnson was also not better than Lacy or Kessler. Just as Calzaghe was the first to beat Lacy and Kessler, Hopkins was the first to beat Johnson. But was Johnson better tha Kessler? I doubt it! Look at Johnsons resume before he fought Hopkins!
Dont forget that Hopkins had much problems with Taylor, while someone like Pavlick kicked his ass. I have to say Hopkins looked verry good against Tarver at lightheavy, so maybe the trouble making weight at middleweight(he SHURELY had trouble, look at his weigh in in his last middleweight fights!) has affected him and hes better at 175. With resumes i think both man are about the same. Both are long reigning champs with lots of title-defences and they had not manny really big fights. And as i said, Hopkins fought DLH and Tito who are great, but BHop is far bigger than them.
As older Hopkins gets, the more intelligent and tactical he gets. Calzaghe will have problems with Hopkins like everyone, but can Hopkins with his old age ad his low workrate beat Calzaghe? Thats the question? Can he stop Calzaghe? He knocked down Tarver, but Calzaghe has an verry good chin, and while Hopkins can punch hard if he wants to, i dont think he will be able to stop Calzaghe. This is a diffiult fight to pick and i look forward to it, even though it will propably be an ugly fight.

If you cheerleaders take time to take off yall pom poms and really look at the math! The Welschman has looked good against 44 good sparring partners! Be honest! What opponent's name REALLY sticks out on his resume? Bernard is over 40 years old with his legacy cemented win or lose! Joe will be a forgotten fighter when he falls! Those 44 wins will look tainted just like Hatton's 43! The TRUTH finds everybody who steps in the ring! The TRUTH found Hatton in December and I'm quite sure it will find The Welchsman in April!
The only FIRST that happens will be Hopkins losing to a white boy.

        Welchsman? WTF? www.dictionary.com

LOL come on Joe you cant say fighting in England is like being a "foreigner". How about when Naseem Hamed fought Steve Robinson in Wales, he was called a pak.i, spat at and had bottles thrown at him and he still managed to get out to the U.S faster than you.

Im a Calzaghe fan but Hopkins does have a point.

Oh wow, how shocking that Joe accuses Bernard of ducking him. Bernard probably wanted 3 million dollars total and with trainer deductions and everything it didn't equal out to. His ****** lawyer misunderstood.

And even if he had ducked him, which I don't think he did, who cares? They are fighting now anyway and they are both really good still, even if they aren't in their primes.

and James Toney, as well as the Unbeaten
This is absurd! I know they were fighting in 2003, but wasn't the fight going to be at freaking crusierweight? Bernard should have gotten a lot of money for that because they were both big names and they were fighting at Toney's weight.
