In all honesty, He should be a belt holder. In today's weak heavyweight division he should be a top player. I say SHOULD BE because he has been so inactive and poorly promoted. He has the power to knock any of the heavyweights of today.

tua hasnt beaten a descent opponent in years and has struggled mightily against class c opponents. anyone in the top 10 would ud him. he's just too slow and one dimensional

oleg had like 7 professional fights at that time and it took 10 rounds for a prime tua to get to him and he was behind on the cards. his chances in a rematch would be very slim

I think Tua is aware of his limitations right now. His confidence is definitely in doubt. Otherwise, he would be fighting opponents that would lead to his ranking by the big 4 organizations. Two of his past four opponents have barely had an above .500 record (his most recent opponent is being fed next month at the State Fairgrounds to an 8-1 Indiana heavyweight 32-year old "prospect" on a card where you can sit ringside for $35)

After his layoff, he struggled to get rid of Talmadge Griffis on an independent PPV that only had 1 live undercard, then he headlined a PPV where he lost to Cisse Salif on one judge's card.

His last fight wasn't even on TV except delayed on a regional Fox channel.

Why would any champion want to fight someone who the general public doesn't even know is active anymore and why would one of the Big 4 federations rank a guy who is fighting guys with 10-8-1 and 8-5 records instead of someone ranked themselves?

Amazingly, the WBC has him ranked #13. The WBC heavyweight belt is easily the weakest - worst champion, questionable ordering of mandatories and rematches, and an inactive former champ able to jump in and fight for their belt whenever he wants...

That's an odd description of Tua. He barely talks above a whisper.

I've always thought Tua was a calm, respectable, humble warrior too.

I like Tua, I think he is one of the best heavyweights ever that never got a title. He Ko'd Ruiz and Michael Moorer each in the first round. Has a ton of other good wins off guys who eventually became champ. He hasn't fought in awhile though, hope he fights again soon.
