This one dimensional gatti did so much better against DLH then Mayweather.

He actually connected with some punches on DLH's face and body and also the fact Gatti moved up to fight DLH at Welterweight while Floyd moved up to fight Gatti at Light welterweight. Still DLH-Gatti was more competitive then Mayweather-Gatti...which was none

Mayweather has fough the best of his time and won, in that you can't argue. Is there still fight's out there for him? Yes, but I would classify him as a great fighter if he were to retire tomorrow. If he want's to be known as the best then he will have to fight Cotto maybe Margartito or a few other guys that can pose a challenge for him.
        100% agreed.

It's the case of Marciano. He retired undefeated. So what. His era was weak and I don't care about that win over Joe Louis.

He was fighting a guy that wasn't even 50% of his former self anymore.

And to label a guy that fights once a year " The greatest of all time "

        Is that a joke?

His legacy is far from cemented yet.

Bring on a rising young star like Cotto

Classic boxer vs puncher matchup. Only, Chico didn't have the chin to stay in there and keep punching.

Castillo only tested Floyd because he has brittle hands.

And let's be honest. Floyd lost the first fight to Castillo.
I can see we are going to back in circles with this. No matter how you down play Chico (RIP) he still was a monster and was killing people in the ring before he fought Floyd. I see you're looking for the smallest thing to discredit Floyd. Now Chico is overrated with a weak chin after Floyd beat him. WOW!

Castillo vs Floyd I was a close fight that could have went either way. So he rematched ASAP and showed who was the better fighter.

Why didnt you say anything about Castillo vs Mayweather II?

gatti was actually better when he boxed and used his legs than when he brawled, IMO.

no game plan on earth could've made him beat oscar or floyd, but when gatti boxed and used his legs against patterson, jabbing a lot, throwing those combos, he looked better IMO than he did in any of his brawls against the likes of rodriguez, ruelas, or robinson.

Because I don't think II was as close of a fight as the first. A great boxer like Floyd should be able to easily figure out another fighter the second time around and that's what he did.

That's why I don't see the second DLH fight being very competitive. Floyd knows what Oscar will do , but Oscar certainly won't be able to figure out Floyd. The shoulder rolls won't change and the defense is clever.

Who used the word " overrated " ?

It's common sense a boxer beats a punch most of the time.

And a supremely talented boxer vs a mediocre chin .... Well, we saw what happened.

RIP to Chico is right. I always loved to watch him fight. I was at Castillo vs Corralles I . It was amazing. But styles make fights and the matchup vs Floyd was a nightmare from the start

Also for the record I'm a Floyd fan and I hope this fight De la Hoya Mayweather II doesnt happen. I want him to fight Cotto.

the fishnet has 2 get out of the way first.

according to oscar and richard scahefer, if negotiations with floyd fell thru, then they would fight cotto.

according to cotto's team, they would fight oscar before anyone else.

the fishnet has to be out of the way so we can get pbf-cotto.

I respect all of Floyd's skills and I know he's not the jerkoff the media attempts to portray.

We live in a dumb society that buys into all that villain **** and it sells. More power to them. Their in the ring risking their lives and **** like that. They deserve the $

But this rematch with DLH. What a farce.

Steve Forbes better have the fight of his life in May and squash any chances of this happening.

Cotto vs Mayweather. That's a real fight for the ages.

The only fight worth saying " The world Awaits "
