Its a 2pt thread but I try to be unbias in it. Seriously, I now think that this fight will definatly happened. It sucks sometimes to be a boxing fan because the elite guys only fight like every 5 months so when they pick someone else then its upsetting because you know you will have to wait a long time to see the fight you want but I do think that we need to be patient. I honestly believe that the fight will happened around this time next year as long as both guys keep winning. I also think the extra year will make the fight even that much more bigger and everyone at that time will be glad that its happening now instead of earlier.
I think Arum was trying to get the Oscar fight for Cotto but then Oscar went with Floyd. Despite all the bad stuff Arum says, he's still a smart cat. He knows for a fact like most of us do that Floyd is a fighter and he's not going to retire. After Floyd fights Oscar then he really has nowhere else to go but to Cotto and Floyd will feel alot better about the fight by then. Because of that, Arum decides to setup some fights to happened around the same time as the Oscar-Floyd stuff. He now has the April 12 double header to come near around the same time as the Oscar tuneup. Then he will have the winners of the double headers fight around the same time as the Oscar-Floyd fight. By time all that happeneds then the Floyd-Cotto fight will be huge and its the perfect setup. Cotto definatly doesnt need the break right now like alot of people say. He doesnt need the easy fight "now". However, I think Arum is looking at the future. He's giving Cotto that easy fight not because of the fights he just had but because of the fights he just had combined with the fights he will have after Gomez in Margarito & Floyd. He wants him fresh for them.
Despite people's feeling about all these matchups, I think they will all change rapidly after they see how it plays out. I think Cotto will look good in killing Gomez. I dont know what to think about Cintron-Margarito but its not a big deal anyways because Cotto will just fight the winner no matter who it is. However, it will be exciting because whoever wins the Cintron-Margarito fight will get alot of hype and it will make the fight with Cotto huge. Im sure everyone agrees with all of that but they still dont agree with the Oscar-Floyd crap. Again, I think that will change when they see how it plays out. Oscar is still way better then people give him credit for and it was just 2 fights ago when he murdered a very good Mayorga. I think that seeing Oscar on HBO will be so exciting to everyone e****ally if he has a big card like they say they will. He will go down to WW and kill Forbes. Even though Forbes is a small guy, everyone will be pleasently surprised by Oscar. The card will be great and Oscar will look great. Everyone will say that now they wouldnt mind seeing the rematch if its at WW and that Oscar still would beat alot of the top WW's.
The Oscar card will be so good and he will look so good that the mainsteam will again be hooked once 24/7 starts. Floyd's Dad will totally sell this fight and people will talk about how good Oscar looks with Floyd's dad again. Oscar will fight Forbes totally different. He will jab a ton and be very physical & aggressive with him. Everyone will be saying that this is how Oscar shouldve fought Floyd the 1st time and if he does that now then he will win. He will also look quicker at WW. I told everyone that this fight will be much better the 2nd time around because it will be at WW, Floyd was scared of how his body would react to 154 and the big Oscar. He wont show Oscar half the respect this time and Oscar will be much more aggressive and pop that jab all night. Floyd is also getting bigger every fight, the long layoff will probally make him gain and extra pound or so and he's feeling confident after knocking out Hatton. I believe that both fights will live up to the hype. Cotto will look very impressive in a late stoppage against either Margarito or Cintron while Oscar will look good in the fight with Floyd but Money will look even better and will fight surprisingly very offensive as he clearly wins.
