    Depressing News

Former five-time world champion Johnny Tapia has signed with former promoter Ron Weathers. A fight is planned as early as March, possibly in Albuquerque.

    --------------------

Tapia shouldn't be allowed to fight anymore. He's not the healthiest fighter in the world and being stopped by a guy who wouldn't have qualified as a sparring partner in earlier years is a sign when a guy needs to step away.

On top of that, Tapia balloons when he's out of action and his body is going to suffer. I understand that Tapia needs boxing because otherwise, he's unhappy and turns to drugs. I wish him well, but I'd rather see him step away gracefully.

Its sad when fighters don't know when to stop. Someone needs to stop these guys, ecspecially Holyfield.

wow. Its long been time to hang them up. Its an embarassment to the sport when fighters like him are still able to fight
