Do you like Oscar De La Hoya?

Oscar seems to get a lot of hate on here. I'm wondering why.

Do you like his character for being a good guy and a legend of the boxing game or think he is underhanded, sneaky, self-promoting etc?

I can't stand Oscar De La Hoya. He is my least favorite fight in boxing. There isn't one fighter on Earth I would root for him to beat. I couldn't stand him from the beginning of his career and ever since. I don't even want to spend the time listing all the reasons.

mixed feelings towards him. On one hand he's the american hero who fights anyone and can scrap with the best of them. On the other hand, he is a huge sissy.

I have mixed feeling about him, I used to like him, but he's not as serious about fighting now than he used to be and is just making the public pay money to see him fight, I still like him, just not as much as I used to.

He's a nice guy, but I don't think he's necessarily a "good character guy." I mean he's got illegitimate kids and was accused of raping a girl in Mexico. Now, that may all be trumped up stuff and I hope it is...but I think people give him a pass too easily.

That said, I never really liked him even though he does seem like a personable dude. I don't hate him anymore, but I don't know. There's just something about him that rubs me wrong. I know he's popular and that that's good for the sport in a round about way, but I just don't feel like he's genuine and I'm just generally put off by his style.

I do think he's done some good as a promoter though. So, I don't hate him anymore.

I liked him early in his career, but recently I wish he would just retire. Just for the fact that he doesn't need any more money, I mean he makes a butload with GBP anyways and he should just let the relevant fighters especially in the WW division fight. Instead of prolonging fights and having everybody wait on him to see who he's going to fight next so they can make their decisions. I know he's a big draw and probably helps boxing when he fights, but I want to see fights that matter.

lol...how is the fishnet a "good guy".

now the guy has done good for boxing of course, but he is slimy as hell with his "i defeated the biggest harvard ***" comments, underage sex toys being paid off, firing so many trainers and cutmen without giving any reason and using someone else to do it, and obviously self-promoting. he's also a crybaby with his promises to investigate the mosley decision that didn't go his way (the other time he lost to ssm, he blamed it on bad oysters). hey oscar, what about investigations for your wins over sturm, quartey, whitaker, and investigations for the d. hopkins-forbes fight?

de la fishnet has also made a habit out of picking on smaller guys moving up in weight and beating guys who have taken brutal career altering beatings via trinidad, and his oscarsexual fanbase go nuts over these wins, but when he loses to someone bigger, they discount it as "he was smaller".

i kid you not, the cross-dresser claimed his loss to mayweather "saved boxing".

i think chavez was the one talking more **** afterwards. chavez wasn't giving him credit and blamed the cut on him bumping heads with his infant son, not the punches of oscar.

Yeah, Chavez didn't give DLH credit for the win, saying the cut was because of playing with his son, DLH got mad at that and started talking some trash of his own.
