      I'm not really a fan of Tarver, but he did win his last fight rather easily.

        easy ? he should of knocked the guy out in round 1.....he wasn't able to and he took some shots he wasn't suppose to.....idk IMO he will never be considered an elite fighter i just dont see it in him

            tarver has been showing luckluster performances after the roy jones fights. this is an indication that he is in for a retirement soon. but let's see what he brings with woods.

                  I think you're over-reacting. He got the guy out of there as soon as he was ready to go. Those fights are no win situations though. Woods is a solid opponent though. Not a career defining fight, but definitely a solid resume builder.

                  Give him credit...most people would have been satisfied with Lacy. Woods is probably an even bigger step up. If Tarver beats Woods and then fights either the Hopkins-Calzaghe winner or the Dawson-Johnson winner then his 2007 was just an abberation. Remember, from 2000-2006 this guy fought EVERYONE at 175. I know his 2007 left way too much to be desired, but cut him some slack. This is a guy who built a career off of always fighting the best even when he didn't have to. He didn't always win, but he did fight the best.
