No more than Joe Louis, Ray Robinson, Roberto Duran, and Larry Holmes damaged their legacies with late-career losses.

Tito looked good enough against Jones and won 4 or 5 rounds. That, in my eyes, makes up for the beating he took against Winky.

The only thing that might hurt it is the whole hand wrap stuff.

I dont know why Trinidad or his handlers thought he could win this fight. His power did not transfer to the 160lb division, how one earth was he going to hurt Jones at 175lbs who himself fought as high as heavyweight.

I think it will hurt Trinidad in terms of his credability. He took the fight for the payday.

Having said that, he did perform pretty well for being natually smaller by 3 weight divisions.

Not at all. IMO, Trinidad was a natural welter weight that moved up weight divisions taking on the bigger fighters and beat all of those fighters with the exception of the elite; Winky, Bernard and Jones.

I think you have to give him credit for taking on those challenges and moving up in weight with no "tune up" fights. And it sures makes his arch rival look like a joke when he does the opposite, by going down in weight, fighting smaller fighters and loses.

Have you ever heard of a fighter moving down in weight to take on smaller fighters and still needing a tune up fight...

                      Tito's legacy is fine.
He was the best at his true weight class.
No-one can knock him for collecting big pay-days against big bully-boys.
$15m against a shot RJJ who couldn't even put him away....
He is laughing all the way to the bank.
He knows nobody in their right mind would slag him for losing to a man who spent most of his career at 175 on the Juice.
