cottos body shots might be irrelevant in this fight as margarito wont tire but his jab will land all night

he stops margarito late on the corners orders or knocks him out late

Cotto developed a new defense in the Mosley fight, sorta like George Foremans defense, that defends against the uppercut. But it seemed very forced and unnatural. He has to think about doing it before he can do it.

Margarito is definetly slow but he throws so many punches. He holds the record for most punches thrown in a welterweihgt fight.

Its definetly gonna be a really close fight, and i think Cottos Body shots are gonna be key if he stops Margarito, because those body shots are brutal and thats how Cotto is able to stop like 70% of his KO opponents

I doubt he cares either way. Margarito is his fighter too.

I really feel like Margarito vs Cotto would end up looking like a welterweight version of Foreman vs Frazier unless Cotto decides to use his counter punching and boxing ability rather than brawl with the taller Margarito.

I think Cotto is smart enough to realize that brawling is Margarito's best chance of winning the fight.

Margarito needs to do the same thing he did the first time around with Cintron, which is pick at Cintron's defense carefully until Cintron becomes impatient and starts making mistakes. If Margarito comes out too aggressively, he runs the risk of getting caught by a Cintron bomb. Make no mistake, Cintron is the bigger puncher but he's also considerably more fragile.

What Margarito needs to do is use his jab and make a phony war of it until he relaxes Cintron by which time he should close out the first round with something that jars Cintron. Reminding him as soon as possible of what happened the first time they fought will reinstall any lingering doubts that Cintron might be holding on to.

For Cintron, he needs to forget the first fight and truly invest in the belief that he is a new fighter. He has a new team with Steward and Gamache running his camp and he has much more experience than when they first fought. He's still green and rambunctious, but if he can maintain his focus and composure and counter punch effectively whenever Margarito rushes him, he can win this fight. It won't be easy or pretty, but he can win this fight.

Margarito is no Tommy Hearns or De La Hoya, he is a brawler. But he's a smart and experienced brawler who knows when to make his moves and when to lay back. If Cotto can get in and out and use his jab at exactly the wrong time for Margarito, he can win this fight. But at the end of the day, it will become a slugfest and Cotto will be tested here.

Nonetheless, I don't think Margarito is made to beat Cotto and Margarito offers a lot of target to the body. Cotto is an excellent counter puncher when you give him the opportunities. If I had to pick, I'd go with Cotto. He's just all class in the ring.

Despite what his fanboys claim, Margarito is not a hard puncher. He is a strait forward volume puncher with nothing even close to resembling defense.

I have a feeling that he hits about twice as hard as he did in the first fight since coming under the guidance of Manny Steward.

None the less, Cintron doesn't have the biggest heart in the world, and he gets easily discouraged, but he is still the hardest hitting welter in the world. If he can hold up to the body punching of Margarito, I think he can put Margarito away, but I doubt that will be the case. Margarito will probably win on bodyshots again.

Its nice to see you are finally embracing your sexuality, dancing with a man in public a huge step towards coming out of the closet.
