..Erik Morales: I'm Not Finished, Yet...

"My plans are to return to the ring in 2009," says Mexican ring legend Erik Morales. The legendary three-division champion told esto that he plans to come back in a ten-rounder, then seek a championship fight. "I think I can come back and fight again and win a championship because I don't consider myself finished," he continued. "There's nothing unusual in taking a long break like Roy Jones or Felix Trinidad have done. I saw the action between Armando Santa Cruz and Joel Casamayor, and I believe that at this point I do better." In the meantime, Morales has begun working as the new director of the Municipal Institute of Sport in Tijuana.

Stole that from a website. Anyway, your thoughts?

I think he's risking seriously getting hurt if he heard ringing everytime got hit. He should stay retired.

      NOOOO!!! dont do it man,

Morales has no buisness coming back, he is done, old, shot, worn out, he has nothing left to give. HE gave us the fans everything he had to give and we all love him for that but by returning he risks great injury to himself. God i hope he doesnt realy come back

Erik is done. He is an accomplished legend he can stay retired. He is doing a great job as the boxing director (or something like that) of Tijuana. He was also helper of the Mexican olympic team against the U.S. when they had a meet recently and from what i read they did real good so he just needs to keep bringing us new talent imo.

He's done, and if he thinks Santa Cruz/Casamayor is any indication of the talentr he'd be facing then he's mistaken. If this were the way to go about it, he should though. Taking 16-18 months off that is.
