The Ring: "Mayweather Could Definately Lose To Cotto"

"Pretty Boy" says he's leaning toward taking 2008 off from Boxing, which begs two questions: Does he mean it? And if he does mean it, is he going to vacate the welterweight title? Tough questions to answer, but we know this much: If he does defend in 08', it's going to be hard to get away with picking an opponent other than Miguel Cotto. And that's a fight Mayweather could definately lose. So one way or the other, either by Cotto or no-go, we're predicting Mayweather doesn't have his title at year's end.

Ring don't mean **** no more. It's owned by Oscar and Oscar hates Floyd's guts. Of course they're gonna criticize him every chance they get.

I love it when people act as if Mayweather (or any fighter) could never lose, Wow how shocking, Cotto could win?! Anyone can lose to anyone in any fight.

Why would Oscar want to force Floyd to fight Cotto? You are talking rubbish I'm afraid.

Yep, the problem is that some Floyd fans think that he can never lose to anyone on earth!

I just wish The Ring had splashed that across the new cover.

Then maybe Floyd would fight this damn fight!

Floyd wouldn't give up his loot from a DLH fight to get less than half to fight Cotto.

Maybe after he waxes DLH again he'll make the Cotto fight (assuming Cotto is still undefeated).

Hopefully, although I'm about 99.9999% sure Floyd will "retire" again.

blah...same old story over and over. Hatton was supposed to walk through Floyd (I even was preaching that crap), right? Floyd is the best fighter as of now and someone like Cotto who is struggling with old ass Shane Mosley is not going to beat Floyd. He would get peppered and TKOed in the late rounds.

I would just love for Floyd to be an underdog going into a fight. That way, I will make crazy money when I put down big money on him.

                    Floyd struggled against Oscar though...

Old legends usually aren't fighters that can be breezed by, no matter how old they get.

I think Floyd would win, but not on the basis that Cotto struggled with Mosley, because Mayweather isn't Shane Mosley.

I think that Miguel has gotten a bit too tentative to beat Floyd with his new style. He might have had a better chance with his pressure style, but I don't think so.

Floyd will be beaten by a tall, strong jabber, and Cotto is not that.
