Yea that's why millions of Americans rooted for Duran, Chavez, Lewis etc..
America is least biased country in the world and all you green teeth limey's knows it's true.
Don't waste my time with this nationality bull****!
sdo you think that brits didnt root for those fighters also? such a dumbass. you further make it concrete how ignorant yanks are. the ****ing judges in the usa are flawed too.
i mean oscar vs floyld was a sd. lol the biggest fight in there world yet it was a sd. i dont give me bull that it was a very close fight that oscar was gonna take it.
KJ, just look at Hatton/Floyd fight, more Americans were rooting for Ricky.
Yes we've biased American fans but it's not even close to UK or any other country.
I can agree with this. There are a lot of Americans who will adopt a foreigner as a favorite. The English still whine that their soccer league is full of foreigners, not all of them but enough for it to get annoying. On the other hand we hardly hear that the Spurs win the NBA title with foreigners
You forgot about your beloved UK, which is 10 times worse then USA.
In UK you don't only have ****ty judges but you also have some of the ****tiest referees in the history of the sport.
Now do me a favor and go watch some of Calzaghe, Hatton, Khan, Hamed and Froch fights, now count all the TKO stoppages they had in their career.
After you watch all of these fights then tell me how many of those fights would've been stopped by an American referee???
You also seem to forget that America have had more fights then the whole world combined and when it comes to big fights, most are in America.
Like I said America > rest of the world
You can be a Pinoy, Mexican, Arab, African, Puerto Rican, British, Russian and still be loved in America. You don't have to be American to become a super star in America. That's what's great about America and when it comes judging and refereeing, you can't find a better place in the world. And that's the fact.
If you think America is biased, then you're a biased British fan and gonna keep mentioning some of the robberies we had in America.
I will name you some but lest not forget how horrible the refereeing is in UK compare to US.
Here are some fights that were judged incorrectly.
Laguana VS. Buchanan
Close VS. Eubank
Narvaez Vs. Buchanan
Robinson VS. Turpin
Bueono Vs. McCullough
Johnson VS. woods
Maliniga VS. Eubank
Polo VS. Harrison
Reid VS. Calzaghe
Watson VS. Eubank
I can name more but since you ask for only 3, I added a few more.
Lets not turn this into another nationality thread but considering how many fights are in UK, they are right up there with Germany.
For any British person to say that UK are better at judging, then they are clearly being biased.
Look boxing can be a dirty sport and we have many robberies all over the world but considering the amount of fights that are in USA, it's not even close to UK.
Well, I will tell you this. They wont stop the fight when he slaps like the ***** that he is. They will give him a fair fight. They will let him run around and slap box all he wants while the passionately waiting Hopkins sticks him right on Q every time and scores easy points. I seriously doubt lil cal man will even stun Hopkins for one second. IF ANYTHING Hopkins will get into calzaghe's head and make him loose focus and before you know it the one punch that hopkins does throw will count. I don't see this being a clean, or boring fight. Hopkins will fight some-what dirty making a lot of emotions coming from both ends, calzaghe will make it interesting with him slapping like he does all the time and having to retaliate every time he gets hit. So it wont be boring. The only thing I see the Ref doing is, if Calzaghe is giving it his all with those ***** slaps and Hopkins starts laughing at him and smiling at the HBO commentators, you better believe he will break them up and not allow calzaghe to embarress himself with a bunch of pathetic flurries like he did in the Manfredo fight. So I believe the Ref will break them up a lot. Bad for Calzaghe. But in the end it wont matter. I believe Hopkins has this fight in the bag. Maywather shocked the world once, and calzaghe says hes going to make up for it... all I say to Calzaghe is.... I LAUGH AT YOU SIR! Just keep your head up at the end of the day! Hatton did, But then again HE IS and WILL ALWAYS BE A TRUE CHAMPION!
I love this slap arguement. People always seem to shut up straight away when I ask a simple question: Name me a fighter that accuses him of slapping AFTER hes beaten down on them for 12 or less rounds?
Hopkins has a solid chin and Calzaghe doesn't seem to hit as hard since he broke his hand, so a KO is unlikely.
I think Joe will win a wide decision - but I'm concerned the ref may let B-Hop fight as dirty as he wants to, without any concern about points being deducted.
Joe broke his hand so badly he was told he would never box again, yet he is now an undefeated world champion. Did I mention this injury was in his teenage years, as an amatuer schoolboy boxer? All his pro KO's have come after he broke his hand, but as he gets older it takes longer to heal than it did when he was younger, so he sits down less. If it comes down to it though, and the fight is that close, Joe could, without doubt, put Hopkins away for good.

I dont know about you, but I'd rather watch a fighter get stopped prematurely and come back stronger than get KO'd and never speak/walk/wipe thier own ass again, let alone fight. Too bad you are the kind of boxing fan that likes people carried out on stretchers, regardless of what they did for your entertainment. You are scum my friend, nothing but **** eating racist scum. Die of cancer please you ignorant ****.

what do you mean the english? unless you're actually in england then i don't agree with that at all. as an arsenal fan of 12 years i can honestly say that i havent met any fan that has actually questioned any foreign player.
you might get the ignorant people who complain, but then they also boast it being the best league in europe. these people just don't think that we are probably the best league in europe because of all the foreigners.

Buchanan and Laguna fought twice, once in NY the other time in Puerto Rico. The decision and the officiating was fair in both fights.

Wow, you've got the archive of the Turpin fight, i thought that had been lost, download it onto youtube or post it here, because I'd love to see it. Its interesting you picked that one, because I've been unable to find much criticism of it from the US, the only reason Robinson lost is was due to lack of preparation from a ridiculous fight schedule and he destroyed Turpin in the rematch.
The two Laguana fights were in Puerto Rico and the US respectively (the WBA were in dispute with the British Boxing Board of control at the time so the fight DIDN'T happen in Britain)
You have also listed three all UK fights Eubank (Eng) v Close (NI); Calzaghe (Wal) v Reid (Eng) and Eubank v Watson (both Eng) which don't really support your argument.
That leaves you with Eubank Malinga; Buchanan Narvez and Woods Johnson. The Buchanan fight was close, but the with the other two you could have properly supported your theory. By letting the other poster get under your skin you've not done your research and made yourself, as we say in the UK 'look a bit of a twat' which is a shame because I thought Eubank's style got the benefit of the judges far too oftenand I think Malinga was a good fighter that beat a near prime Benn with good boxing skills. Picking on Buchnan was also a bit off given the guy's valiant stand against the brilliant DURAN who hit him with everything bar the kitchen sink and had his balls punched so hard he wore them as earrings for three weeks afterwards
