I think boxing should be a sport for all kinds of people, include them all, but 110 lbs is "chicks" wheight for christ sake! What I've been seeing is that there are incredibly diminutive fighters at the lower classes, really short, and even at that size they are incredibly raquitic to make the wheight. A 110lbs man is a very small man. I think people are not very interested in watching boxers who look sick out there.

I also believe 10lbs is not that much, it's a week of work for a pro athlete in either direction.

Well, you know, it's just my opinion.

good point about boxers fighting at a natural weight class, but i think this could be achieved by having the weigh-in a few hours before the fight. draining yourself to make a weight you aren't suited to is ****in dangerous and the sport would be a lot safer if this wasn't allowed.

there are a few fighters at the gym i go to who are naturally less than 130lb. i don't think that alienating them from the sport just to cut down the number of weight classes is very fair.

and as for the popularity of the sport, would it really make a difference if some of the lighter weight classes didn't exist? i don't think so.

I like the sport the way it is pretty much. The extra weight classes help the tweeners. We witnessed greatness in one of the extra divisions over the past 20 years (168)

Wilfredo Gomez, Barrera, Morales all Super Bantams.

weight is fine, its the fact that there are to many champions. What we need is 1 champion and 1 organization and and international commision, but sadly greed over rides the love of the sport and as a result this will never happen, boxing will always be fragmented and there is nothing we can do about it.
