Interesting news in the heavyweight division...

The heavyweights are one division where it is pretty clear that there is a guy above the rest, but he doesn't have The Ring belt.

Anyways, #1 has to beat #2, which is Samuel Peter, or in some cases #1 can beat #3 to become The Ring champ. I think this would be one of those cases.

Anyways, in the last edition of The Ring's rankings, Ruslan Chagaev jumped Oleg Maskaev to become the new #3.

So now Klitschko vs. Chagaev could do it in the future.

He still won't fight one of the top 3 guys. he'll be fighting Povetkin or Chambers next.

Wlad has always been willing to unify. His only taker so far has been Sultan. Peter and Maskaev are busy for the time being with each other.

Chagaev will have to fight the winner of Valuev/Lyakhovich next, WBC belt is a mess with 5 people in line for it, so we won't see the Ring champion this year, I'm afraid.

finally they fix that. chagaev is obviously a top 3 if not top 2. but klitchsko isn't gonna be fighting him next cuz he has to fight the winner of povetkin-chambers first.

why do you think klitschko would fight povetkin/chambers instead of any of the other names mentioned, just curious?

Povetkin/Chambers is the finals of the IBF eliminator tournament.

                It started with 4 people...

                Povetkin vs. Byrd
                Chambers vs. Brock

                Winners fight each other tonight.

Winner of that gets Klitschko next, because they will be the IBF mandatory.

He'll fight the winner of Povetkin vs Chambers then maybe the winner of Peter vs Maskaev if Vitali doesn't come back.
