Someone like John Scully, who posts here from time to time would be MUCH better. Or someone like Roy Jones, who has a great TV personality, would make the fights more fun to watch. Or Joe Mesi, who's commentary would be more intelligent and less repetitive.

Atlas is dull, biased, negative, phony, repetitive and boring. If he leaves the show, it would be the best thing that could ever happen to ESPN.
Teddy has forgotten more things about boxing than you know about AT ALL.

Teddy is a hot head, and always has been. I remember reading about his confrontations with Tyson and Cus back in the early 80's (and the reason why Tyson and him cannot be in the same room together).

He does speak up for boxing, tho, and most of the time he's really looking out for the fighter's interest and not his own or that of his network/job. For that, I have plenty of respect for him.

I think he gets a pass for his confrontation with Tyson and everything to do with that.

Didn't Mike try to **** his sister or something? I can't imagine anyone keeping their cool if that happened to someone.

Teddy should quit. That's total BS.

No chance. He dominates too much of the commentary and isn't a company man. Teddy has mega knowledge but his ego is gigantic. I think Time Warner would regard him as a loose cannon, especially after this latest problem. To them Merchant is too outspoken. They don't want to deal with Teddy Atlas.

yeah I dont see Atlas fitting in with the HBO crew, and Max Kellerman unfortunately has dibs on the next opening. Probably showtime, versus or even HDnet (if they still even get cards?) would work.

Something needs to change at ESPN though, beyond this alleged corruption we also some have terrible terrible match ups; Its almost always some rising star or fallen champion pulverizing some bum who took the fight on a weeks notice.

The only reason to watch FNF is to root for unknowns and underdogs or watch people get K.O'd (like David Banks) by people they shouldnt be fighting (like Edison Miranda)
