Gatti/ward was actually competitive with back and forth action. In the first Holyfield/Tyson fight, i only seen Holyfield out boxing and out working Tyson before knocking him out, it was just a beat down.

Gatti - Ward 3. Although if Gatti hadn't broken his hand that fight would have been one sided IMO.

I totally agree. It is a total downer too, to think that a fight that competitive only was that competitive because Gatti snapped his hand in half.

I ended up voting for Gatti-Ward.

I'm surprised no one has voted for Holyfield-Tyson yet... everyone always jumps my nuts whenever I say that I didn't really like that fight too much.

My bad, I though I was voting for Bowe/Holyfield 1.

If I made a poll between Gatti/Ward III and Bowe/Holyfield I, and Gatti/Ward got even one vote, I would be furious.

Holy-Tyson I is a fight I'll never forget. It had an impact on heavyweight boxing history. Gatti-Ward III seemed like one of those obligatory Spiderman sequels. Really no comparison in my eyes.

in 30 years time people will probably remember holyfield tyson more not because it was a better fight but because it was such a big event.
