    News site/New interview

    http://sportssoundoff.net/blog/?p=25

    7. What does a fighter do on fight night?

ICE: Hopes he doesn’t get his head smashed in. Hopes he didn’t weaken himself from losing too much weight. Hopes he doesn’t embarrass himself in front of his friends and family. Hopes he’s ready. Hopes the guy doesn’t hit as hard as he looked on tape. Hopes he ran enough, did enough sit ups, and sparred enough. He wonders why he chose to do this, to be a fighter and subject himself to this type of anxiety every time he fights.

Great interview, Ice. Who do you spar with these days? Your fighters? If so, how do you balance the roles of trainer and sparring partner in the ring? You want to teach them, but you also as fighter want to beat them, no?

inspiring interview. Only being in the boxing gym around two years, I always think to myself " if only I started younger". At least I can read about the life of a pro boxer through your upcoming book

I have sparred with quite a few guys in recent months, including the guys I train. Igive them the best sparring I can but at certain times I will adjust my style or technique for the guy they are fighting against. Between rounds I will remind them of certain things (keep your left up, stop raising your chin, etc etc)

I never dealt with steroids in any way but I remember actually hearing once that they could actually work in reverse with a boxer and cause him to get more tired than anything. Anybody know about that subject?
