Yeah in his mind he's better than both Calzaghe and Kessler and in his prime he probably was. But he's not doing it for the money because he left a lot of money on the table. I'll agree if you say he left the money on the table because he was certain that he'd beat Calzaghe.

Sometimes boxers leave money on the table for purposes of benefiting their legacy. Pacquiao did it for the first Barrera fight. Judah did it for his second fight with Spinks. Marquez is doing it for his second fight with Pacquiao. I think that's what Hopkins is doing here with Calzaghe. We'll see what happens, but I give him credit for wanting the fight and win more than he wants every last penny that he might get out of it.

You've clarified the question I was gonna ask. And I think you may have a case, if purely because I'm not sure Hopkins -- now surely on the brink of retirement -- would've signed to fight Joe if he knew how big a chance he has of losing that Ring title to him.

I have no idea which one of your favorite fighters Hopkins has embarrassed but thats the only way I can justify your foolish ranting about Hopkins cherry picking Calzaghe etc... Of course he thinks he is a better fighter than him, he has accomplished far more in his career than Zaghe ever will. Granted he is 40+ but at 40+ he still is one of the P4P best in the game. When he was referring to Kessler as a nobody he was simply saying compared to him and his accomplishments Kessler is a no name.

With all that said Hopkins by decision to shut the haters and doubters up....again.

Hopkins isn't a moron, he knows he can't win. He isn't delusional, he knows Calzaghes a million times better then Tarver. Hopkins has never fought any fighter who has thrown over 1,000 punches in a fight. And Hopkins fought smaller fighters(who usually throw more then bigger fighters) but Joe Calzaghe is a freak of nature.

I dont understand this B-hop/Calzaghe thing!!! If B-hop didnt fight him then his ducking JC but if he signs to fight him then his Cherrypicking? Please give Calzaghe some credit he isnt anybodies Handpicked opponent, Cherrypicking is when you pick on someone who is 2 to 3 levels below you ETC Mayweather/Bruseles...Cotto/Gomez....or Oscar/Forbes.

I do think you might be a moron though, completely writing Hopkins off for this fight.

Don't you remember what Lampley said about Taylor before they fought?

"I don't think I've seen a faster and stronger middleweight ever than Jermain Taylor."

Pretty sure Hopkins had plenty of a chance to win that fight.

Hopkins has a style that doesn't need youth and athleticism to execute it... he has a hell of a chance against Joey Cal.
