Calzaghe on Hatton: "I Won't Make His Mistake"

Super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe, speaking with the Evening Standard, promises to stay away from making the same mistake as his UK countryman, Ricky Hatton. Calzaghe said that Hatton allowed Floyd Mayweather Jr. to lose his focus during the pre-fight hype in Las Vegas. Hatton's lack of focus, according to Calzaghe, contributed to the knockout loss to Mayweather last December. [details]

Hatton is an aggression fighter anyway. He's always growled, even in shadow boxing.

Ricky Hatton mistake was doing the same thing over and over, he kept coming in with the same hand same target right before he got knocked out

Hatton's mistake was not leaving the ring in the 6th round when it was clear the fight was being refereed unfairly.
