Mike Tysons 4th Comeback. What it means for Boxing?

Romours are Mike Tyson May be coming back out of retirement again. 3rd or 4th time. Depends on what you classify a comeback.

Most Likely it will be negative for boxing. But im interested to know your thoughts?

If Mike quits after a couple of rounds, just because he doesn't want to fight anymore. Or if Mike's trainer is weak and doesn't push him, then its going to hurt our sport.

But if these two old, former champions go punch for punch. Or by some stretch of the imagination Mike Wins. The key is, it needs to go 12 rounds.

Then it could be good for the sport. It would sell a few million PPV's. And that isn't bad for our sport?

    What are your thoughts?

If it gets Tyson back in shape and motivated it's good.
As long as both Holyfield and Tyson don't take too much punishment and retire after it, it's good.
If it sells well and makes money for both, it's good.

      Agree mate.

I think the key is his trainer. He needs a hard arse. Who isn't afraid to tell him hes being lazy and needs to pick it up.

I believe it to be a farce and more proof of the decay that lies within boxing.
This is a fight to watch for the same reason people will look at a train wreck, which is what this fight is.
The only reason to look at Tyson now is to see if he will pull an 'Oliver McCall',of if he will re-bite Evander.

How far down the line is this fight? Are they having serious talks? Has a potential date and venue been set?

            Questions, questions, questions!

I think it's bad for boxing because there'll be a lot of hype surrounding his return and a big spotlight would be put on boxing but I believe that regardless of the trainer, Tyson is done, once the fans see that he didn't live up to the hype, boxing will get bad mouthed. I'm not talking about the hardcore fans, I'm talking about the normal fans who only tune in to watch the big events.

Tyson was quoted last week along the lines that he has no interest in Boxing and fell out of love with the sport.
He has not been training and said he didn't even know who was who in the sport anymore.
He also said that he is enjoying life spending time with his children and that he had mellowed out.
I think until Tyson seriously gets out of shape & old someone will always tout him having a comeback.
It's just a cheap way of generating publicity.
Prince Naseem was another who was kept being touted to have a comeback.
Himself even stirring the rumours but he is just a fat slob now and could never regain his previous form.
I don't even understand how some people get excited at the prospect of old fighters who are past it making comebacks.
                    99.9% never succeed.
George Foreman was an exception but he was a monster.
