Why doesn't RING magazine have a HW champ?

I mean, isn't it crystal clear that Klitchsko is the champ? He beat #2 seed Samuel Peter and is basically been the top guy ever since Lewis retired. What does Klitchsko have to do to get top spot? wlad being HW champ makes more sense than Hopkins being LHW champ IMO. I mean, is there something I'm missing here? I am by no means a wlad fan but I just think that he deserves to get that champ status even if it is only a paper title cuz alot of ppl take it seriously and wlad deserves that respect and recognition.

i think the rule is the number 1 faces the number 2 huy from the ring top 10 and then the belt is on the line.

Ring Magazine works on a linear line. A beats B then B is champ until C beats him.....etc. With Lennox retiring as the undisputed Linear champ when he retired so that left them in a bind.

This is most easily evidenced by Baldomir fight. Baldo beat Judah and while NO ONE thought Baldo was the best WW, never the less Ring still had Baldo as the WW champ. While everyone thinks Klitch is probably the best HW out there he hasn't beaten the other champs which is what Ring Magazine is waiting for to declare a top HW.

I agree, Wlad should be The Ring magazine champion right now, he is clearly the best heavyweight in the world. After Wlad KO's Sultan in the Unification showdown he will be The Ring magazine champion. The fight is only 1 month away, I can't ****ing wait.

Me personally, I don't care who Ring Magazine says is the champion. They have been sold about a half dozen times in my life. It is now owned by a boxing promoter. If Vince McMahon were to buy Ring Magazine, would it still be regarded as the "boxing bible"? I'm not saying the current management of that publication isn't honorable, just that they are vulnerable and replaceable.

He has to beat Peter or Maskaev, 2 & 3. The Peter fight happened 2 ½ years ago, where they WEREN’T ranked 1&2 in the division.
