  • Quick Look: Oscar De La Hoya's Three Choices

    By Cliff Rold

After being part of pay-per-view cards over the years that saw Oscar De La Hoya (38-5, 30 KO) face off, between superfights, with non-pay worthy foes Javier Castillejo, Felix Sturm and, least notably, Yori Boy Campas, Oscar was quoted last week stating that he’d like to do a ‘free’ HBO fight this May as a thank you to the fans.

I wont be to harsh since its a tune up and is said to be on regular HBO. Im hoping its malignaggi because that could be a decent fight. Malignaggi has a chance at outboxing him.

Oscar would destroy all three pretty easily imo.

Salita is too green, Malinaggi is too small

You are missing the 14 lbs of cold hard cash he will be carrying to get KTFO by DLH lol.

            Steve Forbes too.

Shame on Oscar for wasting everyone's time with a bull**** fight like this. At this point in his career he should only be fighting the BIG names, give the fans what they want and deserve from the "Golden Boy". Three fights left, make em BIG, you know. Not no ****ing Paulie, Forbes or Bob Arums son, this May fight is gonna be a ****in waste of HBO airtime. He should fight Cotto in May with the winner taking on Floyd.

Its a tune up so he probably won't fight paulie, I mean i think oscar would beat him but its definatly the biggest threat to him, I think he'll fight forbes and forbes will watch the money pile up and get KTFO

hold up hold up what makes you think he actually deserves a big fight, the ******* lost 3 of his last 5 fights and 4 if you include Sturm who whipped his ass too but got robbed, thats good enough for you to say he should fight big fights? hell no yo he shouldn't even have a right to face Floyd, if he wanted a rematch he should have rallied for it once the fight was over and not wait for Floyd to fight Ricky Hatton.. bottom line is De La Hoya is just a name, his name is the only thing making him fight worthy not his actual status as a world class fighter because he has gotten off on the worse end in his last 5 fights.. homie really don't even deserve Cotto and if he DOES fight Cotto it's because Cotto wants to milk him for his millions.. De La Hoya NEEDS to fight this fight to regain a pinch of respect, how can he just strong arm his way into Welterweight and just have a go up against the best there when he is 2 for 5 in his last 5 homie? that **** don't make no sense..

Oscar needs to fight someone in his own weight class, i mean your a junior middleweight picking on junior welterweights, how the hell you gonna expect to beat floyd like that?

And if he's got billions? Why does Bill Gates keep making those ****ing computers??? LOL gotta love Roder Mayweather
