Yeah he won every round against Toney but that's maybe the least amount of good punches I've ever seen a guy take en route to losing every round.

A real aggresive guy with boxing skill that could hit hard and was relentless like Gerald McClellan or something could have beaten him.
168 jones threw one punch at a time? you couldnt be more wrong ever it sure sounds like you never watched the 168 jones

I made a point to say most of the time and to reference the Toney fight. Against very outclassed opposition like against Brannon in that video he'd take more chances.

The only good fighter Roy beat at that weight was James Toney and Toney lost his next fight to Montell Griffin, lost to Griffin again and then lost to Drake Thadzi.

The other names Roy beat at 168 were guys like Antoine Byrd, Vinny Pazienza, Tony Thornton, Merqui Sosa, Eric Lucas and Bryant Brannon.

Roy was probably at his best at 168, though I would argue he was better at 175 because that opposition doesn't grant you the best p4p fighting machine rank.

Beating Benn, Eubank and Collins would've made Roy Jones the best ever at that weight, sadly Roy never fought them, whether it is because they ducked Roy or not.

Collins certainly didn't, I doubt Benn did, I think Eubank is the only one who ducked RJJ. Whatever the reasons were, Roy never fought them.

Vinny Paz takes a beating from RJJ.

Pazienza got that fight for beating a near 50 year old Roberto Duran. Lol.

RJJ's fights with Montell Griffin. Roy's bad habits (laying on the ropes, taunting and showmanship) really cost him in the first fight and Roy lost his cool but Jones was all business in the rematch.

Nice to see the man is still appreciated! I agree his opposition at 168 wasnt stellar but the blend of athletisism, power and speed is something not many fighters have come close to having (i can only think of one off the top of my head) let alone any other 168 pounder

RJJ is the most talented fighter in History IMO forget just 168 Him and SRR had everything a Boxer needed but sadly RJJ will not rank as high as other greats because of the lack of competition which is vital to be Considered an ATG

Roy Jones at 168 was the best fighter I have ever seen. And throughout his career look at all the champions he beat. Reggie Johnson, Bernard Hopkins , James Toney, John Ruiz, Montell Griffin, Vinnie Paz, Virgil Hill. That sure is a list of bums huh? " They say I dont fight nobody? I just make em look like nobody! Yall Musta Forgot!

Take Vinny Paz out of that damn list and you have some good names. Hardly a resume that makes you p4p the best ever though (achievement-wise).

Athletically, yes, RJJ is as good as anyone and his skills are obviously great too but his resume isn't.

RJJ should be in the top p4p discussions but he can't be ranked as p4p best ever unless he beats guys like Calzaghe, Hopkins, Pavlik, Taylor, Dawson in his 40's which is not going to happen.

Roy's resume would be one of the best if it had names like McClellan, prime Hopkins, prime Trinidad, Michalczewski, Maske, Nunn, Calzaghe, Benn, Eubank and Collins in it.
Maybe have some heavyweight title defences and beat up James Toney again.

If circumstances and pride went differently Jones resume could have had Toney(twice) Bhop(twice) Benn, Nunn, Benn, Mich, Eubank, Tarver Gerald and Calzaghe. Now THAT would put him in the top 5 p4p EVER. However, **** happens. If he beats Cal after Cal beats Hopkins he has a good claim at a high spot once again.
