Toney willing to fight Golota if Jirov keeps running!
GL: Can you give us some thoughts on the Jones-Trinidad fight? "I thought it was a good fight. I think Roy fought a great fight. He moved around like the old Roy Jones moved around. Everybody showed up for a good fight and Roy was able to do whatever he wanted, so I think everybody should be happy."
GL: What's the latest as it relates to your comeback fight?
James Toney: "Right now I'm just biding my time and getting ready for whoever is ready to get done up. Me and Dan are working together and we're trying to get a big fight done, but everbody is talking a good game and nobody is signing any contracts."
GL: Is there any update on the Jirov fight?
JT: "Nothing. I guess he's talking with his ****ty Russian accent, but nobody is stepping up with so I guess he's still running."
GL: What did you think about Golota's return fight?
JT: "At first I thought he was going to stop the kid, but then he got tired. It was surprising to see that he didn't try to do anything dirty. But the kid he was fighting can't even spell fight. They better keep him on the club circuit, he might be able to look good there."
GL: Does a fight with Golota interest you?
JT: "Anytime, anywhere he could get it. I'm not that bum he fought last night, I will hurt him."
GL: Do you have a target date for your return?
JT: "We're looking at a couple of things for late March, early April. Nothing is set in stone, I'm just looking at the options and getting ready to figure out who's going to catch the first ass whooping I'm handing out this year."
GL: Who will be training you for your next fight?
JT: "I'm still working on that right now. You'll be the first to know once I lock that in."
GL: Will Billy Blanks assist you in your preparation?
JT: "Not at all. He's just opened up his fitness center and I wish him a lot of luck with that. This is going to be my year and I'm here to knock all chumps out."
