Aggression is the last resort of mine when judging a fight, but if one fighter lays on the ropes and blocks with his arms without throwing punches, and the other fighter makes an effort to **** him up, the aggressor gets the round.

That is actually pretty much what went down in the first few rounds of Jones-Trinidad.

How does he get the round? You said yourself aggression is your last resort, so defense has to rank higher in your mind right? Being that, then the guy making him miss should get the round.

Making him miss is different then blocking. Trinidad was at least doing some damage to his shoulders, elbows, and face/midsection from punches that were partially blocked.

You can't tell me that Jones 100% blocked every shot.

I guess I did lie though about aggression being last. Defense probably is last, because if you are all defense, unless you are Willy Pep or Pernell Whitaker (or Andre Dirrell, even though what he did was just straight up cheating) the guy is probably going to make some contact on you.

Name what round(s) you gave to Tito. I remember HBO telling what the fans on AOL were voting during rounds and Lampley was in utter disbelief at the Tito fandom that was giving him rounds, as the fight went on, even crazed Tito mania couldnt give him rounds. Hop broke him down like a fighter is supposed to and eventually closed the show, a pure masterpiece.

You do understand by rules that blocked punches arn't tallied as being punches scored don't you? I think every category should be weighed almost the same with defense being very important, its a skill every fighter wishes they were masters at, it prolongs careers while making a fighter do what he most wishes nobody sees from him and that is to look bad. Its embarrassing to a fighter to swing and miss throughout a fight. Thats why as bad as I think Winky wanted to complain about his decision with Hop, he didnt because him being an accurate puncher nobody made him look that sloppy before. Im one of Hop's biggest fans and based on clean punching, I think Wink probably should have gotten the nod in that fight, but based on all criteria it was a hard and tedious fight to score.

One judge had it 10-1 in the fight, thats good enough for me, like I said what round(s) did you give Tito, you didnt, which means you probably didnt even see the fight.

I saw it live and I lost a fair amount of money. I have'nt seen the fight in about 3 years, so I can't tell you what rounds I gave to Trinidad.
