Willie Pep would be horribly bashed he fought in this day and age. Fans jus can't appreciate wonder defensive skills.

Very true. The sad thing about it is that he wasn't an athletic defensive wizard. He was quick and just knew the game. He was elusive. (Hence his longevity, compared to fighters who look good defensively only to be exposed as pretty good or average once the reflexes begin to go.) That'd also get him hated on, because some of his movements were just moves to GET OUT OF THE WAY. Like a smart fighter.

In my top three, for sure.
