Our obvious love for our own countries should not spill over into arguments.
Yes the US have made mistakes, but the proactive (and sometimes dodgy) practices of the Reagan era brought the Soviet Bloc to its knees, we could have had a far worse guardian over the last 60 years and once Bush has gone we will get back on track.

The UK on the other hand, still punches above its weight in culture and science , we have slightly more Nobel academic prizes per head of population, but the US is catching up every year and we share the top five universities in the world with you.

If the US can keep control of the religious right and kep the state and church separate, we are all going to do fine.
