Why does Lennox Lewis get credit for Beating Tyson who was shot to bits

Why does Lennox Lewis get credit for Beating Tyson who was shot to bits ? Mike was so shot in this fight it was untrue he could'nt even shuffle his feet quick enough to close the range thats how old & shot he was ,he looked so old & lethargic

prime Mike would have hurt Lewis badly in this fight IMO ,Lennox was messing about for 7/8 rounds with him & did'nt take advantage of the fact Tyson was there to be knocked out cause he was'nt punching or moving ,the real Tyson would have made Lewis pay for his lapsidasical approach the way Rahman did

in a way people like Tyson & Holyfield paid the price for avoiding Lewis earlier in there career cause by the time Lenny got to theem they were past there best ,not saying Holyman was shot but he was possibly past his best ,but hey that was'nt Lewis problem he still one of the best Heavyweights ever

I don't know that too many journalists or historians do give him great credit for this 'W'.

It was a good name on the resume, and he was able to say he beat many of the best fighters of his era because of this matchup, but I don't think anyone with any boxing knowledge would call this the highlight of his career...

I think Lennox was on the verge of sliding himself, so it gives him a BIT of credit. It was a fight people had wanted to see both take for a LONG time, to begin with. Nonetheless, he did what he was supposed to do. Nothi8ng special happened that night, other than the spectical of it all.

It was probably the myth of Tyson that gave Lewis so much credit in his victory. I personally think it was a good win but it wasn't his best win by any means.

Largely because even if Tyson came back today, people would still give him a shot of being a genuine title-holder.

Tyson was the last one left for Lewis and he put an end to Tyson.

Mike wasn't near his best, he was shot to bits and proved it afterwards but the fight was something that needed to happen. Even if it happened like 6-7 years too late.

yeah why is this ? Mike has no agility anymore reactions are shot ,speed is gone his durability has gone ,everything that made him successfull has gone except for his punch which he will only be able to land with the aforementioned qualities
