That's not exactly how it happened though. You're making it seem as though Ricky was some kind of journeyman being given a break by the prettiest p4per in the game. It wasn't the plot of Rocky. Hatton was a highly rated fighter, was considered the missing link in Floyd's journeys through the weight classes and most importantly was the biggest and most lucrative fight available to Floyd at the time. It wouldn't be realistic to suggest that Witter is far an away the most lucrative opponent for Hatton now. Malignaggi is. They could build up a fight with Witter but I think it would need a bit more work than people are needing and in any rate Hatton is coming off a bad loss and needs to have a look-good feel-good scrap to get him back on track. A fight with the awkward and ugly Junior Witter would not do much for Ricky win or lose at this stage.Sounds very hypocritical. He got Floyd's attention by trashing him and Floyd was gracious enough to give him his "biggest payday" ever. Ricky needs to return the grace to someone else.
Maussa was broken down in an ugly contest.Yeah Hatton got sliced up by a d-class fighter before taking the guy out with one of those hayemakers Mayweather saw coming all night, i digress....if it was Hatton who ko'd Harris you would be singing his praises
No he wasn't he won every single round.hatton was losing on the scorecards to maussa before he knocked him out
No it didn't, it had Hatton winning every single round, but gave him considerable criticism for making it such an ugly difficult fight. Maussa landed exactly one combination on Hatton, a headbutt to the eye followed by another headbutt to the other eye.when i was watching the hatton maussa fight on ppv the unofficial scorecard had it 3-4 for maussaComment

Hatton has always been at least one level more successful and wanted than Witter. As a result Witter has long been using the tactic of calling him out to improve his own profile. Even back when Hatton was fighting for the British title it would have been the biggest payday for Witter, and it's no different now.
I'm not opposed to a witter bout in the next year. But the notion that Hatton has been ducking Witter for "seven years" is nonsense. It has only just started to make sense for Hatton to fight Witter following his loss to Mayweather.Comment

Its not in a real British's fighter's make-up to criticise a boxer who is better than you.
Hatton is better than Witter and Rees. But only Witter does the whole b/s talk.
Thats ok when yo're dealing with American boxers. they like that crap but if you do it in the UK its personal.
Thats why Witter will never get a shot at Hatton.Comment

So basically Whitter hurt Hatton's feelings so the fight won't happen? What a pansy.
