How Often Do Fighters Bet On Themselves?

I gotta believe that Money Mayweather had a couple million on himself at sportsbooks all over vegas... and once in awhile fighters or promoters will openly have side bets..

But how often do these guys really put their own money where their mouth is?

I was wondering this after watching Bunema KO Karmazin last night....

If Bunema really believed he was gonna win he couldve gotten upwards of 1750 dollars on a 100 dollar bet on himself.... considering he probably was getting the ****tiest purse on the whole card you gotta wonder if he put say 4 grand on himself hed have walked away with 70 grand....

Is this commonplace but considered improper to talk about? I know i would be betting on myself if i was a fighter.

doesn't concern me. When I start to get worried is when they bet against themselves like De La Hoya did against the shanker.

Hopkins let it publicly known that in the Trinidad fight he was paid something like $300,000 for the casino advertisement on his back and bet that entire amount on himself.

300,000 just for the patch on the trunks? That doesn't seem right.......How big was his purse?
