Roy jones would be destroyed by a puncher

Wow i saw the tito and roy jones fight i have to say roy is more defensive now but hes too defensive.
the guy lays on the ropes with full guard up he cant see any shots coming makes it worse that hes 39 i dont think he can take as much punishment that he use to.
A puncher at LHW would kill roy jones he jus lays there as a target with his guard up i dont even think he can see anything to.
I think thats the reason why roy wont fight any top natural LHW at the moment lol cause he knows he cant take a punch tbh.

I think that if Tito would've been able to hurt jones badly in those 4-5 rounds he won at the start he would've beat Jones because once Jones gets hit badly and stunned he won't be a factor in the next rounds...

I think this is common knowledge. Jones goes into a defensive shell whenever he's in with an opponet who has a reputation for punching hard. I suppose it's a fear reflex as he's trying to avoid getting knocked cold again. You could see in the first 3 rounds against Trinidad how reluctant Jones was to engage Tito early, showing respect for his power.

But power alone won't do it, you need some skill behind that power. You could hit like Foreman but if you don't have the pedigree to land on Jones it won't do you much good. Someone with a style similar to kelly Pavlik would make short work of Roy, a consistent boxer who works behind the jab and hits like a mule.

Please tell me the 5 rounds you think Tito won at the start of the fight.

I remember scoring the first for Jones, the second for Trinidad, and it went that way for about 5 rounds. But then Lederman kept coming on "Okay Jim, 3 rounds to nothing, Felix "Tito" Trinidad." and I kept thinking "What the **** fight is this guy watching?".

I also kept hoping the official judges weren't see it the same way, I saw the fight dead even in the early rounds. It took the first knockdown to tie **** up on Lederman's card.

I hope not. But im thinking a half decent fighter would.

I think his best chance is at SMW. There are definetely better fighters than LHW. But not as powerful which gives Roy a better chance.

Cal wouldnt be coming up in weight. Jones would be dropping down to 168, at 39, and fight for Joes title, in Wales.

I think Jones likes playing on the ropes. It's common for him and he can get away with some stuff cause of his ability, but it's obviously showed he's deteroriated reflex wise. Yet even still, he can beat many guys due to his deteroration puts him more as a normal fighter with fast hands. Yet, he isn't anything of normal just yet. I wanna see him fight a top name in the rankings next.
