I don't care where a boxer comes from and thus I have favorite boxers that come from all other the world. I’m proud of who I am and where I live but at the same time I’m not going to allow it to create prejudice for who I root for.
That being said, as Tunney5 mentioned and listed there are some good American prospects out there.Comment

Arreola is ok he still a work in progress and needs to change his name, I seen a recent witherspoon fight and he was not very goodThere's actually many good young American heavyweights. One I really like is Joey Abell - he won NINE times last year, mostly by early KO. In his last fight, he broke his hand in the first round, but adapted and still managed to defeat Teke Oruh, who was 14-0.
Another good one is Chris Arreola, who would probably have KOed Golota if it were he in the ring last night. Some others like Witherspoon, Scott, Johnson and Chapman need to step up to a better level of opposition instead of padding their records against clubfighters, then we'll find out if they're for real or not.Comment

Yes, some observers thought Witherspoon actually lost the fight with Releford and was given a gift decision.
My favorite heavyweight prospects are the American Joey Abell, and the young Russian, Denis Boytsov. And it's great to see a talented heavyweight, Alexander Povetkin, has recently stepped up to become a contender for a world title.
I think anyone who hates and discredits boxers just because they come from Eastern Europe, is very ****** and ignorant. One member here posted he hates the "communist conks", but those countries have not been communist for almost 20 years now. It's a lot more enjoyable to watch and follow boxing if we don't judge fighters by race or nationality.Last edited by The Hammer; 01-20-2008, 08:53 PM.Comment
