Which Ring Champions have lost their status?

I know that The Ring belt is supposed to signify who the champ is in the division...

But there are some cases where it might be that someone else in the division is actually viewed as "The King" even though they didn't beat the linear champion.

    Some cases may be:

Casamayor arguably losing his last match, and Juan Diaz going on a scavenger hunt collecting ABC belts.

Hopkins being old and not fight LHWs... Dawson is viewed as young and having limitless potential, so it might be that it is viewed that Dawson is the best right now.

Mayweather not fighting the other top contenders in the division have led some to believe that Cotto is the real king at 147.

Which ones do you believe have lost their status?

I end up voting for Hopkins, Mayweather Jr. and Casamayor.

Hopkins hasn't really been fighting other LHWs... mostly fighters moving up (not the first time in his career )... Dawson is viewed as the best ABC champion of the bunch, and even though he isn't viewed as by far the best champion in the division, I don't think Hopkins is getting enough credit to be viewed as "The Man".

I vote Mayweather Jr. assuming that the rematch with De La Hoya really is going to take off. He won the belt from Baldomir, which was good, got a payday at 154, which didn't help his status at 147 any, beat an excellent JWW coming up, I don't downgrade him for that because it was his first time doing that at the weight... but if his next defense is against De La Hoya (or if he fights him not at 147) then he really has lost the status to Miguel Cotto IMO.

Casamayor is pretty self-explanatory. He pretty much obviously lost his last fight, but got saved by some bull****. In the meantime, while Casamayor was off doing other ****, Juan Diaz has won 3 ABC belts, and quite impressively if I do say so myself.

I didn't vote for Pavlik unless I missclicked.

You voted for Hopkins, Pavlik, Mayweather Jr., Casamayor and Calderon.

              Calderon doesn't make sense either.

I guess it had to be a misclick.

without a doubt its casamayor, juan diaz is the real 135lb champion.
Also hopkins, its not that he's not the rightful champion its just that he's never going to fight the real man at 175 and that is dawson.
