Jones stepped into his division and dominated at the right time.. He fought the smarter fights his whole career. But if he would have fought any of the great three it would have been Hagler by KO. Hearns by KO. and Leonard would have given Rjj a true lesson in the art of boxing..
Jones would lose 2 Hagler,Leonard,Hearns

I will break down each fighter of the 80s vs Roy Jones one by one
1. Ray Leonard - In my opinion a easy matchup for Prime Roy Jones and Ray was my all time favorite boxer. Im going by Ray Leonard at 160 and 165 when he fought Hagler and Donny Lalonde. Roy would have destroyed Ray Leonard of 1987 thru 1989. If you thought Terry Norris puit a whipping on him. Roy would have been much worse. Just look at the upercut Hagler landed in round 6 of there fight. If thats Roy,it would have landed with more snap and a lot more followups. Fight over
2. Hearns - Difficult matchup for Roy,but i think Tommy would be to predictable for Roy. Hearns is looking to throw the left jab and come back with the right behind it. I can see Roy having a lot of success with his straight right hand and hurting Tommy with quick body shots breaking him down. Roy would eventually KO Tommy
3 Hagler - He had problems with Ray Leonards speed and 1987 Ray Leonard is no where close to as quick as prime Roy Jones. Its not even close. And roy has a lot more snap behind his punches. Roy would win a UD.Last edited by RayLeonard82; 01-20-2008, 04:24 AM.Comment
