Does anyone understand what the phrase 'tune up fight' actually means? These are all fringe world class guys, yeah sure they're smaller than DLH but what do you want, it's to shake the ring rust. I think it's a good idea.

Malignaggi is too fast and slick for De La Hoya.

The former junior middleweight champion tuning up against a feather fisted junior welter? To me unless DLH is giving his paycheck to charity, that is chicken****. Of course the ass kissing media will let him slide.

Lets see, Mayweather is smaller and quicker than Delahoya, so why wouldnt he fight a smaller, quicker guy? Which welterweights or bigger fight similar to Mayweather and would serve as a tune-up? I guess Corey Spinks could work, but does anyone really want to see that guy fight on TV again. And someone like Zab is a legitimate contender, not someone you fight to try things out on. A tune-up is a fight that gets you ready for a bigger fight, since that bigger fight is already set, hes going to pick someone with similarities to Mayweather so he can try things out and see how his body feels at the lower weight, i swear some of yall just love to hate with out even analyzing the situation.

Some of you are so hateful people. After the pbf hoya fight you said all floyd was fighting were old people, now he fights hatton and you say fight a real ww but you forget cotto in only an inch taller than hatton and fought most of his career as a junior ww too! **** you i say it. if i was floyd i'd retire now and never give you a cotto fight (which would be brought down too ever easier cuz cotto has had trouble with 36 year olds and shot fighters oh and him too is a junior ww).

If this is true, Oscar is pathetic. Stevie Forbes?

Malignaggi would have a chance to surpise though, De La Hoya is trash against slick boxers. Any time he faces anybody with a good jab he looks like a robot. The only thing is, Malignaggi is a JRW and DLH is a super middleweight...

BTW, maybe those alleged photos of Oscar are true......seeing he's gonna fight like a girl
