    Matt Skelton > Muhammad Ali

Boxing fans all around the world were just treated to one of the finest displays of pugilism since Willie Pep hung up the gloves.

Skelton did English fans proud by combining a lightning jab and ballet-like footwork to prove why he's one of the finest technicians in the game today.

He did his best, that's all he can do. he didn't claim to be a master pugilist.

Actually, I was surprised. He did actually do the best he possibly could, and made it more his fight than Chag's, even though he lost. you couldn't ask for more than the guy considering his skill level.

Matt Skelton is a disgrace to the British hw boxing scene. He clinched more times than he threw actual punches and lead with his head like he was in a bull fight....

But as someone who has seen every Skelt fight since Julius Francis, then I knew that's what his skill level was. On that basis, then he did okay for him IMO.

Nobody has abused Matt Skelton more than me. I thought the comment from Boston Guy was ****e, Skelton is NOT VERY GOOD! at boxing. Yet made it to a world title fight and made it close, and by my card lost by 3 ****ing rounds lol, to a much touted world class technician like Chagaev.

I mean whats the equivalent. An African from a landlocked country who just got his 5 metre badge getting a bronze in the 100 metre breaststroke at the Olympics. If only some talented boxers possessed the determination of Matt Skelton.

Well done Matt. Testament that slobber tactics and a good chin provide a stern test for anyone.

You can't expect too much more from a 40+ y/o who has only been in the game for five years. The promoter doesn't have as good of an exuse though.
