Seriously speaking, this guy needs to stay retired, and stop getting in the way of possible mega matches. At this point, all he is doing is pimping the fans into dishing out $50-$60 once a year to watch his promoter/part-time fighter ass, talk a bunch of crap about how he is in the best shape of his life, only to lose, then talk about how he had an injury, or how such and such wasnt working for him through-out the fight. Dont get me wrong, i admired him in his day, but its quite obvious that it is time for him to hang'em up. There is SOO much potential at WW right now, and all Oscar is doing is getting in the way of some of these great fights from happening. For example: Floyd/Cotto. So my message for Oscar is this: "Cmon Oscar. U made a ton of money fighting, and continue to do so as a promoter. Let the new breed of champs get some shine. Face it....your past it"

My only problem with that is, When Cotto whoops or KO's Oscar, all the Floydboyz will come out the woodwork and say "He's fighting Floyd's leftovers, and he only beat Oscar because Floyd softened him up for Cotto" Little that they realize, 98% of Floyd's opponents were left-overs, and softened up by someone else prior to Floyd getting to them.Comment

dumb thread
its not delahoyas fight floyd mayweather refuses to fight real welterweights, floyds a ***** and he don't fight for "the fans to see who the best is" what part of that is hard to belive when he himself has said this!
floyd fights who he wants, and its his fault he is unwilling to fight welterweights, has nothing to do with delahoyaComment

Felix Trinidad should stay retired as well. I'm sick of guys like him and Oscar taking as much time as they want off and coming back to big PPV fights whenever they want. It's time to let this new crop of boxers have the spotlight.Comment

I totaly understand that, but if Oscar wasnt in the picture, Floyd would have NO choice to face Cotto or retire. The public outcry for this fight would be too much for Floyd to ignore. Anybody can win a belt from somebody. Keeping it is the hard part. Floyd is obviously obsessed with collecting trinkets withought having to defend them.dumb thread

thats the problem with floyd and his dumb fans support him still to this day, he imo, has changed the way a fight is seen, not its ok to run, back then you fight or your a runner. Floyd went though this in the early parts of his career but now, they accpet his running and call it boxing just cause he's p4p #1 ain't that some bull****.I totaly understand that, but if Oscar wasnt in the picture, Floyd would have NO choice to face Cotto or retire.
