    ..MARGARITO: Judah, The Final Chance...

Personally, I never was HUGE for Margarito. I never thought he was the second coming of CHavez, that most of his fanboys tend to peg him as. To me, he was a a decent fighter, limited and threw a bunch of punches.

Now, he's lost 5 of his fights. Bringing his overall record to 35-5-0. Three of his losses were in his first 12 fights, so I'd excuse those. The opponents who beat him had a combined record of 91-5-1. (This is counted at the time that they fought Margarito.) He's never been stopped, and if you don't count his first 12 fights (what's fair is fair), 26-2. That's a decent record. He's beaten another young fighter who's getting some shine right now, too. That being Kermit Cintron.

He's a slow puncher, in general. Throws close to 80-100 punches per round, very good power. Nice body attack and has a GREAT chin. The problem is that, with all this said.. it's still not worth the praise that this guy gets.

People call him the most FEARED MAN IN BOXING???? Really? Who fears him? Do they fear the risk of losing to this guy, when the fight wouldn't make them that much money? Yes, in a way. This is a BUSINESS after all. But do they actually fear the challenge of HIM, is the TRUE question. My answer, is no. I don't think they do. Respect him, sure. He's a solid fighter. But that's probably it, no more no less.

However, I still don't have a problem with the guy. I really don't. And now, I hear he will be facing Judah next - in May. This fight really will tell you a lot about both. For Judah, it'll tell you either how far he's faded or how much he could have offered the game, but probably never will. It'll tell you if Judah will get another shot at a serious fighter (other than Margarito) and how well he MIGHT do.

But for Margarito, it'll tell ME (and it should tell EVERYONE else) how much Margarito has to offer, period. If he doesn't do well, against Judah... FORGET IT. And I say do well, meaning, beat him and look GOOD doing it. Beating Judah wont be enough in this situation. Everyone can look good beating Judah. Mayweather looked good, Kostya looked GREAT, Cotto looked very good. If Margarito can't rival that, he should have no claim to being a TRUE threat to any major star. Not to shoot the guy down, but Judah should be faded further than he MAY have been in the Cotto fight and Tony should be able to handle him as so. If he can't, I think his fans need to jump back into the reality pool and take a few laps.

Once again, this is not a thread to bash him. I'm just calling it like I see it. This is all my opinion. I'm as right or wrong s everyone else on here. I actually hope Margarito can pull it off. I've seen Judah aagisnt a lot of the top guns in the division, so I'd be more interesting to see someone else get the shots. I'm just saying, if he can't DISPOSE of Judah, like he should..... It's a done deal, if you ask me. That's all.

He should be able to. But a win is a win. Judah is a tough match up for marg because of his quickness. Judah cant ko marg but he can definitely out score him. but i dont think judah will be able to handle margs punches and pressure. Margs body work is just as good as cottos if not better. But you cant say oh margarito decisioned judah and cotto ko judah so that mean cotto is going to beat margarito because it doesnt work like that. I dont care how marg looks against judah because if judah shows up he can beat anyone. If judah showed up and was focused he could of tko'd cotto. He did wobble him several times. doesnt matter how marg wins because judah washed up can still be on his A game that night and give a good challenge. A win should be respectable for margarito, but it seems like people here alwasy bash on peoples opponents or have a reason for why they won like if they cant do that for their favorite fighter. If marg looks a little bad but still wins i will still pick him to beat cotto!

Margarito didn't get to where he is by being garbage. He got there because he generally utilizes every positive aspect he has.

He's tough, he gets full leverage and benefit of his reach. He has the stamina of a ****in race horse, and he's an actual "tough guy."

He doesn't have anything flashy, he's almsot mastered what god gave him. And again, as cliche as it sounds...Style's make fights.

Would he give fighters like Mayweather and Cotto problems? Honestly yeah, I don't see Mayweather landing hard consistant convincing shots on Marg's chin for 12 rounds, especially when Mayweather is too weak to fight backwards. Mayweather would have to put in alot of body work to land anything that looks significant. The moment Mayweather rely's on his shoulder D and stops moving, Marg takes over on that tiny Floyd frame. Same with Miguel, the moment Miguel stands still against someone like Marg, Tony takes full control. But you ****in newbies think that would mean that I'm saying Marg is better then Cotto, when thats not even the case.

Yeah Tony doesn't have blinding speed, yeah he doesn't dazzle you, but he applys a wasp sting of a punch once you let him connect.

During the Paul Williams match that so many of you Paul fans hold in high reguard, through out that the entire fight, lol through out the lame/weak shots Tony ate.....Paul, was the only one that actually looked like eating canvas late in the fight. Yo, Tony isn't a walkover. He's a mans man, no puss chin in him. You can't hurt him, and the moment you stop moving, you're no more then veal parmigian for a pounding.

Zab will be able to beat Marg, he CAN beat him, if he stays moving and stays at the body if he cant find the chin. The moment Zab stops running, is the moment when Zab's lil ass gets man handled. That lil pea headed ass, lol he needs to stay out of Margaritos determination if he wants to live. The moment he becomes too brave, he's ground beef.

Thanks. And once again, I'm not bashing Margarito, I'm just stating that I do think it's do or die, for both.

This fight should be labled crossroads. This will dictate the rest of their respective careers methinks, it should be action packed.

While I didn't agree with all of it, that was a very well written post.
