I think they will slowly bring up Bika because he has trouble when he is fighting high opposition (Bute, Calzaghne). Andrade is a good fighter, but I think that Bika will win. A fight will Mundine would probably be best for him.
Manfredo is somewhat of a joke now, and did not deserve that shot. But Gomez worked for this, had a fantastic 07 going 3-0 2 early retirering Gatti and dominating a fight with Ben Tackie. I think he will do better than most expect in this fight.
Damn, that is going to be one hell of a fight. No backwards steps for either of those guys. Should be very competitive. I've got to go with Bika, just comparing how Bika did against Calzaghe with how Andrade got killed against Kessler.
Should be a great brawl
- both straight ahead old-style fighters, lacking on defence with plenty of heart good power & good chins (although Andrade wins in the chin department).
Think that Bika wins a close, very hard fought decision.
Bika has slightly more range than Andrade in my opinion, & an edge in power.
Andrade has the better chin and stanima.
Think Bika gets enough of a lead by the 8th that he can coast a little to hold onto the win (he has had stamina problems, although generally manages to recoup after a round or 2 of taking it easy).
Alot depends how well Andrae can handle the rough stuff. Choc Mundine, having played rugby league, should be used to head and the elbow coming in, but he seems determined to waste his potential. Ulimateboxer knows him best on this forum (and only very slightly overrates him) so best to get an opinion from him on choc vs bika.
One thing is for certain, you can't work it out by tautology (if A beats B and B beats C = A beats C ) because styles make matches.
I think it's a trap fight for Bika, coming off the big Contender. He knows he's got another title shot coming somewhere because of the line cutting that past Contender fighters have done. I think he gets caught looking ahead to that title bout and wears himself out trying to KO Iron Chin Andrade. Andrade by late TKO.
