    body shots

do u think body shots are underrated?
Cause alot of boxers dont do that much body shotting except a few like magarito they mainly go for the head.
I can tell u by expierance body shots can do alot to a boxer i got hit by 2 when i was sparring with someone and i cudnet move at all all i could do was sit on the ropes and try block my whole body cudnet move its the worse i been hurt and i only had 1 minutes to go but 1 minute is a very long time in the ring when u boxing.
i heard larry mechant say when mayweather was jabbin corrales to the body that alot of boxers dont appreciate what body shots can do.

Bodyshots are incredibly effective. Watching someone who does it really well, is one of the more artistic things in the sport. I'm not talking about someone just laboring away downstairs, either.....but about someone like Mike McCallum, who could knife a shot througn an opening, or on a counter.

One reason many don't go to the body is because it does open you up for counters to the head.

Body shots are overlooked in this sport sadly as it is, However I credit to the body big time if a fighter committs to the rib cage I favor him in scoring as long as he is effective, simply becuase he is taking more risk in going to the body, he is stepping insided of harms way and more than likely taking a shot or two to get his work done, in other words he is forcing the fight.
I hate pot shotters hit and dont get hit, that is not what this sport was about now all of the sudden its about hit and dont get hit, okay if that is the case then John Ruiz who did an whole lot of Jab jab and grabbin should get credit for his hit and dont get hit style, however the hypocrite fans of this sport will not admit as much.

Body shots can tire you out and leave you breathless, if you're fighting a great body punchers, by the later rounds you will want to quit on your stool.

There is nothing that hurts as much, or takes as much energy away from you, as a well placed body shot. From experience, I've broken the same ribs twice, a boxer could not fight on for long if ribs get broken/damaged.
