Carl Froch Ready For The American Dream

Nottingham ****er Carl "The Cobra" Froch (22-0, 18KOs) is ready to cross the ocean and begin his conquest of America. Froch returns to action on March 15 in a WBO super middleweight eliminator against Denis Inkin (32-0, 24KOs) at the Ice Palace in Nottingham. [details]

        In regards to Froch-Kessler...

My only take on this, is to repeat what others have said.

Eric Teymour put Kessler down in sparring - he has sparred Carl a bunch of times and rates him much more.

Darren Barker - rated Kessler highly, but said Froch had more moves, speed and power and would back him to win.

Tatevosyan reckoned Lucian Bute could beat Mikkel Kessler - he told a mate of mine this personally at the Froch press conference... then after being starched by the Cobra, said that Carl would put away Bute - so work that one out.

        Three professional boxers opinons.

The scary thing is, Froch only gives 75% in sparring.

Even scarier, is that Froch hasn't got out of first gear as a pro.

Froch lunges in too much. He will be exposed eventually. Against an accurate straight puncher like Kessler? Fuhgetaboutit.

The scary thing is, Froch only gives 75% in sparring.
Why the hell would that be scary? No boxer is going 100% during sparring.. that's why it's called sparring.

What was so devastating about that uppercut?

Froch has never even been rocked in the ring (I mean ever), let alone down

Yes I know he beat Reid very well in the end, but Froch got tagged with one of Reid's punches and was definitely stunned.

Good points about the professional boxers' opinions, however, some people are legends when sparring, others can get tagged badly but still peak on the night. Remember, Ali had the **** beaten out of him by a young Larry Holmes in sparring, but still beat Foreman.

Froch is still an unknown quantity, he can certainly punch and has above average handspeed, but has he got the whiskers? Who knows, but whatever happens it will be fun to watch, whether your a fan of his , or whether you just want to see him get his ass kicked.
