It would send a message that you can't just spit in the face of fans and get rewarded for going for the more commercially appealing match. I understand your point, but will you be rooting for Holy-Tyson III to get big numbers too? I don't think that would flatter the intelligence of boxing fans. Getting good ratings for TV fights is good for boxing. Good numbers for PPV's only benefit the parties involved.

i think that the only other fight that would have make sense to mayweather would have been if mosley had beaten cotto. but cotto as we know is not a big name, so at first i thought that cotto fighting dlh would have been great for cotto gaining a big name and then floyd would have earned a lot of money fighting cotto. But since cotto is fighting gomez and then margarito, Williams is a smaller name than cotto, fighting DLH again is common sense.
