Cotto by 8th round stoppage. Margarito is highly overrated. Cotto will make easy work of his slow ass.

If rumors are correct he fights Margarito in April in an HBO doubleheader with Cotto/Gomez.

Yeah, IF Cotto/Margarito happens, it will likely happen after the matchups you mentioned.

              Definately. These two are tune-ups.

I've never seen Gomez fight (I was on vacation during the welterweight triple header)... I don't know how much he is like Margarito.

I do know that Margarito is not doing himself a favor, because:

              1. If Judah shows up, he could outbox and beat Margarito fairly easily... IF he shows up to win.
              2. Zab Judah is miles away from Miguel Cotto in fighting style. Southpaw vs. Orthodox... fast counterpuncher vs. aggressive technical bodypuncher.

I really don't see what Margarito is getting out of this Judah fight. Judah is not highly regarded at the moment.

Well I agree that Judah is not a guaranteed win for Margarito, but he's still a name and sure as hell a big step up from Golden Johnson. Plus with them both being on the same card, it should bring in a lot more revenue if/when Marg/Cotto face each other at a later date (if they both win of course.)

Right now... short-term memory makes Judah more risk than he is worth IMO.

Still though it would be Margarito's biggest win (or at least close to it).

Gomez is a tough, fighter with a good chin who I've heard is mostly a pressure fighter like Antonio can be. It sounds like Cotto picked a decent tune-up to be a less good version of Margarito.

Margarito could have picked almost anyone in the division and had them be closer to how Cotto fights than Judah.

Gomez is willing and game, but he lacks the size or the power of Margarito. You're right about Judah not resembling Cotto, but he's the biggest name available and he'll look good on Margarito's resume, especially if he beats him faster and more impressively than Cotto or Floyd did.
