That's a good workout it works out the legs more than people could imagine. However, does the tire really have to be in the ring? Thats just kind of ridiculous.
P.S. he should do something that adds extra resistance on the way back up.
What are most of you guys on about? That is a very typical training method in boxing gyms all around the world. Boxers have been doing that for god knows how long? Taylor would have been doing that for years but maybe to increase his explosive power and muscle stamina he is doing more of it or just showing that in the public workout.
I actually think Taylor is going to come in better prepared for this fight than any other fight he's had. He's training damn hard and seems to be re-motivated after the loss to Pavlik. I think it's going to be a very hard fight for Pavlik.
Saying that though, a lot of people keep saying Taylor is going to box and move and all sorts of things. Taylor fights basically one way which is to come straight in and fight with his speed and combo's. He's actually a very straight forward fighter which is the reason why Pavlik still has such a good chance of beating him. If he can stick that long jab out following it with his right hand he could still beat Taylor well.
Despite the ridiculous scorecards for the first fight, Pavlik was winning nearly every round with his jab and straight right over and over again. He just has to do the same thing with a constant hard jab (and keep his hands up this time as well lol) and he will take it again I think.

This guy has serious issues after leaving Steward. He has no confidence in his own training now and has to take his opponents ideas and publicly show them? Really lame.
oh god, what an ass.
He should stick to his old plan.
1) Taylor punch face of opponent
2) fire HOT beware
3) Jesus like me so he give me win

Yeah because Pavlik invented this type of training.
