Its not necessarily the opponents. trust me floyd will beat both of them. The money is too good to turn down in a dlh fight. I don't agree with this i hate that this is happening. but its the money not fear that makes this fight. dlh is a much bigger threat then both those guys. especially at 154lbs

This fight does nothing for the "legacy" of MONEY (since that's what he's all about...now!!) Mayweather! Just a good way to pad this bank account & record! I thought he was "retired" or taking a long vacation! I knew he was just blowing smoke (as usual) but damn not this ish again! I know he's going to fight Cotto or Williams eventually (prob 09 when their respective images/names become bigger in the mainstream) but damn Floyd forget the money for a second & think about your legacy and fans!! Fighting low-risk, high reward fights once a year is not going to help his claim as the "G.O.A.T."

Another 16.5 month layoff for DLH, going against the P4P king who's never out of shape. This fight will be less competitive than the first one, where Oscar starting getting dominated in round 9. This time, it will be round 5 or 6.

I was OK with this fight at first, thinking it would be May 3. Now, I'm upset because it won't happen until September and that, like someone mentioned earlier, rules out any other DLH or Mayweather fight for 2008. If Mayweather-Cotto EVER happens (not looking good at all now), it won't be until 2009 at the earliest. Horrible.
The other reason I'm upset is my first sentence. I didn't want to believe the rhetoric about the first fight being a business transaction, but there is NO doubt that this one is EXACTLY that.

I'm a major PBF fan... but this stunt is inexcusable sorry but true fight fans should boycott this ****ery...

As legacy stands, taking this fight PBF loses more than if he took the fight with Cotto and lost. I'm totally aware its a money motivated sport and PBF worships the money but at the end of the day the fight fans are the ones that put that money there in the first place therefore we should get the fights we wanna see....

Well, I guess the hardcore fans can pretend DLH and Mayweather actually retired, so they'd be out of the equation anyway. Then we can tune in for the $$$exhibition$$$ match in September. Ugh.

I know DLH LOVES Mexican Independence Day weekend, but why not make this for June or July and then fight someone else on that date? May 3 should be AT LEAST a tuneup for DLH on regular HBO or the infamous "free TV" idea he had last year.

all u floyd fans can stfu bout him being the best. the best dont do th **** he's going. the best fight the best. ocsar isnt close to the best. his only win in years was mayorga (strum beat him). anybody else would be fighting on espn2. i have to gve oscar credit he has a nice resume ( shane 2x, tito, bhop, floyd). but floyd on the other hand needs to step his **** up. cotto an undefeated wba belt holder & shane a future hof fighter & floyd has made evry excuse in the book why he shouldn't fight them. never once has he given a reason to fght them (dont say he called shane out after shane said he was going on vacation shane said he would take the in feb). dude is a coward.

Floyd said he was vacationing when asked about Cotto but now DLH's name gets brought up and he is over anxious to sign the contract....First it was Margarito for 8 Mil (which would have been his highest pay day to date) now it's Miguel Cotto....When will Floyd fans wake up and realize he is dodging the prime WW to fight easy money making fights!!!! What's next a rematch with Ricky Hatton or a fight with ancient Sugar Shane or retirement again b/c we sure as **** ain't gonna get NO Cotto, Williams or Margarito!!!!
